A GoCar experience is truly a unique way to see the City
and all of its famous landmarks. The virtual tour guide leads
the way, telling the stories just like a local would.
Precise location-based messages play just as the GoCar passes
the premises, which then cues an onboard computer to play
recorded information. As the vehicle rolls by each historical
landmark, GPS Tour software infuses the GoCar with a personality,
so that the GoCar becomes the passenger's tour guide for the
day.
The computer is programmed to direct driver and passenger
on a two-hour loop around the City, including stops at:
Fisherman's Wharf -- This neighborhood on the northern waterfront
is best known for Pier 39, San Francisco Maritime National
Historical Park, the Cannery Shopping Center, Ghirardelli
Square, and the Wax Museum.
The Marina District -- Apartment buildings, shops and restaurants,
this is the best area in the city to window-shop. Also, Fort
Mason hosts a bounty of cultural museums and nonprofits.
Golden Gate Park -- Larger than New York's Central Park,
this is the ultimate haven away from urban chaos. The place
to play, relax and grow culturally.
Lombard District – Lombard Street is known as the "crookedest
street in the world."
The vehicles are controlled with a motorcycle-style handle,
throttle and hand brakes. Because it has three wheels, it
can be driven by anyone with a regular Class C driver's license.
The car even lets the driver know it's time to turn left or
right or if the vehicle is in the wrong lane.
So fold up your map; put away the guidebook; and see the
San Francisco most visitors never see!
